This washer is just average at best. You can't adjust water levels, because max only fills the washing baskets half full. Consequently, you have to do much smaller loads even though it supposedly has a large wash basket. And then I purchased the stainless-steel interior and within 18 months it pitted and started to show signs of rust. The agitation is OK, but it would be better if it could fill a bit more.

Love the size!!! It fits quilts, rolls nearly all the household towels at once, and gets everything washed too to bottom. It's a tank and gets clothes clean fast with smoother than average agitation for a top loader with minimal vibration, so it's safe on a stand and drains faster than our old machine . Our dryer doesn't have to work so hard. Love this machine!

I purchased this washer for my fiance approximately in 2019 or 2020, give or take, the washer worked like it should for awhile till March 2026, the washer went through the beginning wash cycle, and at the end of the cycle the wash water was pumped out but no spin cycle, the washer would stop, nothing more... after a while of my fiance using the washer, she had to get another washer. The whole time she had the washer, she only uses it twice a week at times, sometimes once, the whole time she had this washer she really hadn't got that much use out of the washer to really say we got our money's worth, especially considering usage and time, and we're both are very disappointed, I figured this washer should at least last good 10 to 12 years especially when it's lightly used, i know they don't make washers to last like they used too, at least to where they last 10 years to 15 years, not this one. Quality isn't there to last at the least of 10 years! Very disappointing especially being GE house appliance product. SN# GTW335ASN1WWZR998564G

This was a nice washer when we first purchased it. But within 3 years it started breaking down. First the agitator had to be replaced. Around a year later the clutch AND transmission need to be replaced. Someone gave me a washer they'd had for 3 years and it lasted longer than this one.

We purchased this 2 yrs ago from Lowes, bought the extended warranty as well. It has been broken for 7 months of the 2 years. They have installed 3 transmissions now it needs a 4th...#3 lasted 3 weeks. Called GE for assistance and was told since its out of their warranty, too bad....I just asked for any assistance but was told sorry. I bought a maytag today, sure more money but it has 7 year unconditional warranty. I will NEVER purchase ANY ge appliance due to their non committed customer service...4 transmission s in 19 months....

Ripped up my blankets, pillows, cushions and stretched my clothes. Does not fill with enough water. Goes off balance often, then stops without rinsing. GE repair was nice, competent but could not fix or explain the problem. Three 3 years later after too many ripped up Items I have to eat the cost and buy another brand. After reading these reviews, we should start a class action law suit and recoup some money from GE.

Too many issues

I chose this machine because of the agitator and ability to determine the water level. After 2.5 years it developed the loud grinding noise during the wash cycle. A quick search said this was a common defect in this machine. I got the machine serviced with a new drive belt and new mode shifter. Now, 1 year later...same noise. It varies on when it happens, but at times it is after a 2nd load. Seems I can do one load a day, sometimes. The other drawback is my model, GTW335, does not have a rinse and drain only cycle. It does have a spin and drain cycle, which is needed. The washer does not completely remove water from heavy loads like towels (another negative). So, looks like it is time for a new washer, but will not use this manufacture.

Fortunately for me I do not own this wretched machine, as I rent and it was already here when I moved in. Unfortunately, I have the displeasure of dealing with this horrible machine. It doesn't fill the tub up with any visible water in the tap cold, cold, cool, or color water temp settings, even when it's set to the max water level setting. You can hear it sloshing around from the depths unknown, but the tub itself is empty. I tested this theory by letting it fill with nothing in it and letting it start the wash cycle. There is nothing in the tub. At all. This washing machine is the worst for bulky items and bath rugs, expect your belongings to get shredded throughout the cycle as it happened to mine. This washing machine cannot rebalance itself during the spin cycle either and bangs around horribly and I always have to pause it and fix the clothing in the tub myself. The only cycle I am able to get decent water capacity in is using the "deep clean," cycle with max water level and hot water temp. Don't bother using the "deep rinse," option, as it is completely useless. If I could give zero stars I would.

Dumps out your water if you leave it open too long

I am so upset right now. It's so irritating that this washer dumps out the water if you will leave it open for too long and by too long, I mean like not even thirty minutes. So not only does it waste all the water, but also all the laundry detergent that you put in there. I don't understand why all washers can't just have a standalone soak feature. Within the first year the door latch ,mechanism failed and had to be replaced. Now, 4 years later, its stopped spinning. My mom's old washer was 20+ years old with no problems at all until it failed after the basement flooded during record rain. No satisfied at all. I signed up for a service tech to come and take a look.

Worked great for 3.5 years then just about everything fell apart. The belt started to go and caused the spin cycle to weaken. It left a bunch of residue under the washer and in the casing. Then the pressure sensor went out as it would start to fill and then move to wash without any water. After opening the casing the motor was leaking oil. Unfortunate it last just past the extended warranty.

Purchased GE model# GTW335ASNWW in 2023, as a replacement for our Samsung washer that was unrepairable. In the past month, it has stopped spinning out the water after cycles so I contacted Lowe™€™s because I had an extended warranty . It took 3 weeks from the time I placed the request for repair to it actually being fixed. The washer needed a new sensor, motor and belt. The same day it was fixed, more problems arose. Now the machine is always off balance no matter how small or large a load. The locking mechanism is hit or miss too. Sent in another repair request and the technician came out again but says there is nothing wrong with it. All it needed was a module ™€œupdate™€ . This is not a wi-fi machine , so what needed updating? The machine isn™€™t working as it should and shouldn™€™t be having all these issues after only two years of usage. Save yourself time, a headache and avoid this machine.

Not so great washer!

I bought this washer a year or so ago. It has been a disappointment since day one. Fod starters, the water fill level, whether low to high, isn't accurate nor sufficient. Also when using speed wash for a quick load, it doesn't spin out the clothing well, they are still very wet. Load capacity isnt great at all. If I'm washing just a few towels, the washer bangs around, and doesn't spin out well, no matter the setting. This washer doesn't clean my clothing like my last washer, which was an Estate. I also do not like the fact that if I forget to close the lid when it is filling, the water drains back out after a short period of time. I don't like that you cannot just "rinse and spin" a load. It has spin and drain but it doesn't also rinse when in that cycle. This washer is not efficient and does not meet the needs of my family.
