Very disappointed in this product. The washer does not fill up with enough water. I understand all new washers use minimal water, but I have NO water in the tub when the agitator starts. You can't get clean clothes with no water. I have to fill up stove pots of hot water for towels, whites, etc.

DO NOT BUT IF YOUR USE TO THE WASHERS OF DAYS GONE BY™€¦..we have own Maytag for years because they can stand up to anything the farm can throw at it™€¦..except these new machines™€¦™€¦upgraded from the 90™€™ model to this to wash the king bedding at home and have regrets from the first time we washed with it™€¦™€¦these new machines have a load sensing balancing thing and if it even detects a hint of unbalancing it will stop refilled the tub and try again over and over and over till it either a doesn™€™t sense unbalancing or b you manual remove everything down to one towel or one blanket™€¦..a 1:30 cycle will turn into over 4 hrs I timed it once or if your at work it give up and turn off™€¦.if I could return this I would and I have gone back to dropping off the blankets at the laundry mat™€¦..thank god we kept the old one so we can wash A LOAD of TOWELS 6-8 instead one JUST ONE!!!!

The lonely Maytag repairman - know as Ol™€™ Lonely It was a famous ad campaign introduced in 1967 - that showed the repairman as having the easiest, loneliest, and longest job ever since Maytag appliances never break down. NOT ANYMORE! If there was a new advertising campaign™€¦.. well there isn™€™t so that speaks volumes. AVOID THE BRAND Commercial Grade Maytag Washer MVW73232HC1 Maytag Dryer MGD7230HC3 Purchased June 2023 Maytag washer and dryers are no longer a quality brand. Whirlpool Corporation that purchased Maytag isn™€™t interested in hearing from its customers and makes it nearly impossible to report service issues. Phone calls, emails and the mail system will leave customers in the lurch to attempt to get any resolution for poor quality design combined with electronic components that are just unreliable. They will direct you to a third party repair company, Dan Mark that will provide a yearly service contract, about half of the cost of a new machine at $480 per year. Some people have suggested that washer and dryers today have a life expectancy of less that 5 years without a major repair cost. Each touch pad or non manual knob is a costly repair bill waiting to happen. My Maytag™€™s were less than 3 years old when both of them failed a few weeks apart. It is extremely frustrating to purchase 2 new appliances and have them both fail and require major replacement components that aren™€™t covered. There is a one year warranty the does come with the machines and a 2 -10 year warranty on parts only. They are drive motor and wash basket on the washer and drive motor and side walls on the dryer. Both machines drive motors failed on mine. In addition, control boards, and control panels failed as well. My machines were rebuilt in less than 3 years of ownership. For those asking do I have a large family? No 2 people and about 3 loads per week. The brand is unreliable and after having Maytag™€™s that lasted over 23 years the new version should be avoided at all cost ( literally !) I have attempted to reach out to Maytag prior to posting frustrations on line. 7/6/26 Sent a letter in the mail to Maytag Customer service in St. Joseph, Michigan. 7/15/26 Received a email reply from Kristen R- she apologized and indicated my concerns were documented and analysts and engineers do regularly review files to improve products. Nothing else was offered. Basic form letter and not interested in helping. 7/17/26 I replied to Kristen R™€™s email. I requested my letter and concerns be reviewed by someone else and not AI. 7/17/26- I received another email, this time from Whirlpool Customer Correspondence Team. Shaterrica writes that she too is sorry for the problems I have encountered with their products. She too indicated my concerns were documented and feedback forwarded to the appropriate department for ™€œreview™€. This may not generate any further contact with you but our analysts do regularly review the files, basically saying get lost! Both responses were formed/canned in nature. I have had this washer and the matching dryer for just over 5 years. I purchased them brand new and this washer specifically has turned out to be the biggest, most expensive mistake Ive made aside from marrying my ex. This P/S is CONSTANTLY out of balance and what SHOULD take less than hour for washing a medium load turns into a 3 hour battle of pulling things out, putting them back in very carefully around the agitator thing at the bottom, moving stuff around time and time again, the washer wasting gallons and gallons and GALLLLONS of water trying balance itself back out because you put more than ONE F-ING TOWEL IN IT!!! Spare yourself and purchase something else. Im ready to take a baseball bat to this P/S and drag it to the curb for scrap.

Unbalanced drum

I like everything about this washer Except its inability to balance sheets every time I wash them. It doesn™€™t matter if I wash one king sized set or two, the sheets end up in a wet ball and the drum is unbalanced, requiring me to pull out dripping wet sheets and placing them back in the drum balanced. Needless to say I need to clean the wet mess off the floor and side of the machine afterwards. I™€™ve even paid for a service call only to be told put more in the drum. This was by far the most expensive washer ( and matching dryer) I have ever purchased and yet the less expensive ones of the past did a much better job of balancing sheets.

Just stopped working after 4 years. Don't believe the 10 year sticker, read the fine print on it. Called to schedule service only to find a service call was as much as a new washer. Guess that's why the Maytag repair man sits around all day, its too expensive to repair the machines.

Poor performing washer

Bought this washer last year and while it washes well it simply cannot handle any kind of medium heavy or heavier load. Constantly goes out of balance and tries to auto balance by adding more water. Highly inefficient and a very poor quality on board computer that can™€™t operate consistently with anything more than a light load. Save your money and get a basic whirlpool top load for a few hundred less. This unit looks stylish but is the washing machine equivalent of an Audi, nice looking but terrible long term. For a washing machine stick to simple and reliable, more features are not your friend.

I bought this back in June of 2025. I regret getting a new washer to match the dryer I had to replace since the old one died on me. This washer doesn™€™t fill about the clothing line. It will fill half way leaving the other half of the clothing exposed and not properly wash the top half. Ours ended up not filling up with water at all eventually causing clothing to just ™€œdry wash™€ aka only spin clothing. I™€™ve had replacements to the board and other parts and the issues continue to happen. The repair tech said that I am to use the bulky setting with max fill and extra rinse since that™€™s the only cycle to fill the tub occasionally and that™€™s my only fix. I shouldn™€™t have to do that when all the other cycles were working perfectly well up until 3 months ago. I highly recommend not buying any Maytag products. It would not let me upload a video.

Cleaner clothes and a really really great spinner

I finally gave up on my older Kenmore. It had rust bubbles under the hinge side of the washer top. The Maytag does not have that type of paint/baked on stuff that the Kenmore had. The control for fabric softener is accurate and simple on this Maytag. The Kenmore only put out the softener if you selected an extra rinse (and then it did not always go out). This new machine has an easier to clean detergent and softener dispenser. The time it takes for my usual load is about 9 minutes less now. That has to save a tiny bit of electric. My dryer is having an easier time now because the clothes are coming out of the spin with way less moisture. This new machine does have an interesting set of sounds. Clicks mostly, no whistles or alarms yet. I'll get used to it. We did put a towel between the dryer and the new washer because it tapped a bit during the spin. It is installed correctly so I guess there is just a bit of wiggle kind of like jello in a container. Overall I really like this Maytag.

I bought this washer a year and a half ago and have problems with is from a couple months in. I am at the point that I am no longer able to get the unit to spin the load even with nothing in it. I have had repair men out 9 times now. The second to last time I thought would be the time that fixed it because I was able to run 4 small loads through, but the fifth was back to the same error. I had a repair man come again and he told me it was fixed, although the issue continues. I would not recommend purchasing maytag products. Mine will be going into the community pickup this may as it is not usable. A very big waste of money and time purchasing.

My wife and I purchased a new Maytag top load machine as we just happened to be at Lowes and the company rep was there. He talked us into this machine. Which after only 3 years stopped draining and spinning. He said commercial parts as well as a 10 year warranty. LONG story short. a typical bullsh-t sales gimmick. Not covered. Will make sure I don't purchase another Maytag product or product made for another by Maytag. No wonder the Maytag Repair man is lonely nobody wants their crap.

But it doesn't kick in until manufacturer warranty expires. They at least reimburse laundromat fees. Will never recommend ever. Giving 1 more week.. then buying a SpeedQueen if not fixed! Seel this crap for a loss..

Great Features/Easy to Start Smart Features

Just purchased this Smart Washer/Dryer Set & had it delivered recently. Pleased with easy to use start up of set. However, was not given a thorough printed manual to use all the features for the Smart Extra Power Washer/Dryer Maytag Set. After registration, the phone numbers available to reach someone to make sure I get the manuals sent after registration was not easy, either via the computer or the phone number. The do not have a prompt for instruction manual. understood Whirlpool number is the number for Maytag but should have printed manual for some of us who prefer not to use our washer/dryer smart feature via our phone. We purchased the largest washer & dryer available to us however, as a matched set, the dryer was 2 inches shorter than the washer. We checked the specs & the size is correct. It matches but still looks so much shorter even after it was leveled. So far we are pleased with all the features & the delivery men showed us how to quick start which really helped to see if they were in working order after going through the paperwork. Another aggravation was the paperwork for the extended warranty. Finally, my husband got a number to use in case extended service will be needed in the next few years. Now we await the full printed instructions for all the features to be sent to us for the washer/dryer. We like to have the instruction manuals near our Washer/Dryer for quick perusal. Overall, pleased with the Maytag washer/dryer set so far!

3 years old only having it I got rid of my Maytag washer after the service technician couldn't fix the issue. Even after replacing the motherboard, it after doing 4 loads of laundry it broke.washer and I'm much happier. With my new washer and brand it not Maytag I would not recommend it

I bought Maytag thinking it would be a solid machine that would get the job done. Honestly I™€™m disappointed in the quality of the machine. My washing machine is starting to rust, paint is peeling off the inside. Washing clothes is ok, takes a very long time to run the cycle. The dryer is the worst. It does not fully dry clothes, even when on the setting to sense wet clothes it will still leave them damp. Unless you run bulky and high heat on them all they won™€™t ever dry. Sad I spent the money I did and not just went back with a basic unit like I had for many years with 0 issues. I wouldn™€™t waste your money on this machine. Get a turn dial machine, they last forever, clean just as good and are 75% less expensive.

Good: the washer has a huge capacity and cleans well. Bad: lots of difficulty washing sheets. Washer always has load balancing issues. Can™€™t wash a load of queen sheets with the blanket, they must be separated. Very frustrating.

After owning this for a year, i feel that the product could be better. Often when I was dark colored clothes I will see a gray lint residue on the fabric. Not sure if it is dirty or why this is. Also when I wash sheets it seems that the bigger sheets will "mushroom over the other sheets and pillow cases. I then will stop the load and pull the sheets apart to make sure they are all getting clean. This model does not have an agitator in the middle. Maybe then the sheets would not get so bundled up

Well this is my first new washer in about 20 years. Not sure how I feel about it. Seems to wash well enough. However, It is extremely noisy. The noise appears to be coming from the drum banging on the sides during the spin cycle. I wanted a washer large enough to accommodate a heavy comforter and it does. My husband doesn™€™t care much for it. He wishes we had bought a cheaper more conventional model.

Bought this unit along with a matching dryer. It is just over 4 years old and I have had a repair man here 5 times. Thankfully I puchases the evil extended warranty. If you feel the need to purchase the wonderful made in america brand, please buy the extended warranty as it wont make it 5 years without needing something. First it was a clutch, then basket springs??? Now they are stating the whole direct drive and transmission is needed. Its bad enought that the extended warranty is buying me a new washer as its cheaper than getting this one fixed. Wait! Here is the great part. I can get my model they say so I have to pay taxes on a cheaper model to settle this deal and get a washing machine. I mean thankfully im at a spot I can afford to pour out more cash after four years to cover the taxes and new extended warranty. So, if you want a washer thats decent for three years and are ok to spend more money years 4 and 5 then absolutely go this direction. I on the other hand want to try and find something else.

I purchased this washer and dryer set 2 months ago and have an error code on the washing machine indicating it is either a wiring issue or control panel. The Maytag service company only schedules service calls in my area one day per week. I am already without a 2 month old washing machine and now waiting on service. Likely will need to order a part and I will be without a washing machine for who knows how long. I will NEVER purchase another Maytag product. There is no excuse that a brand new machine would quit working after 2 months. I should not have to be COMPLETELY inconvenienced and unable to do laundry AND have to schedule and be home all day for service (and wait a week for an initial appointment). What is sad is that I am going to purchase a "back up" washing machine (NON Whirlpool brand) as I expect this poor product to let me down again. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I bought this machine a month ago and I™€™m so happy that I did. I love that I can use my cellphone to operate it and get notifications when my laundry is complete. I was unable to stand for long periods after having spinal surgery and being in a wheelchair. I can load the laundry, add detergent and fabric softener then return to my chair to complete options and start my wash. This machine works great and I love that it washes bulky items with ease. There is a cycle for that! The features of this machine makes it a valuable asset and I would recommend you purchasing.

I enjoy the larger tub so I can wash blankets. However, it doesn™€™t seem to clean off dog hair very well. It doesn™€™t keep itself stable. When spinning at a high speed, it makes a horrible noise and rocks itself. The family said they expect to see it walking down the hall. .Consequently, I always use the lower spin speed.

I have a Maytag top load washer I bought Sept 2024. I do not have an agitator. The machine is reliable BUT I do not know if the close are truly clean. My yoga pants always have gray smudges that look like lint deposits. I have to use a damp cloth to rub and remove these stains/deposits. The clothes smell clean but often do not look clean. The clothes are always very twisted when the cycle is done. You need to shake them to untwist before putting in the dryer or they will not dry. I think having an agitator might help the situation. Also bedsheets all get caught up in a ball when washing and cause the washer to become unbalanced. I would not recommend this machine. Get one with an agitator or go back to a front loading machine.
