I got my TC5 about a month ago. It replaced a 24-year-old Maytag that I loved. The old Maytag finally reached the end of its life, and I thought I wouldn't be able to find a new washer like it. The TC5 checks all the important boxes: (1) Can fill the tub completely with water (2) Classic, vigorous agitator that can really deep clean clothes (3) Ruggedly built (4) A few handy control options to fine tune the wash cycle but simple enough to not need another app on my phone to use them.
This thing really cleans clothes thoroughly! It has an agitator function very similar to my old machine and based on that prior experience I have no fears at all about it being too rough on fabrics, including my dress slacks and dress shirts. If I ever had anything super delicate to wash, I'd just use a laundry bag. For my use case, the modest tub size is perfect. It's big enough to wash my queen size bedding, and because it can fill the tub completely, I can wash bigger clothing loads than some of the larger machines that force you to skimp on water. I also like that it can clean a tub of clothes genuinely quickly – even when using the filled-tub and heavy-soil options. It's not the quietest thing ever, but that's why most laundry rooms have doors that close. The old washer was similar, and I can barely hear either of them with the door closed.
All things considered, the TC5 is close to perfect for my needs. Hopefully, it'll last a long time compared to the short-lived junk that most appliance companies are selling these days.

We are thrilled with our new Speed Queen washing machine. A fried of ours told us that he had one and would never buy any other brand but Speed Queen and we happen to need a washing machine so we decided to try Speed Queen and now we know that we will always buy Speed Queen in the future as well!

Like that lid doesn't latch, but sad that water doesn't keep running so I can rinse detergent cup or my hands. I miss some things about my old machine. I could spin the manual dial around to extend agitation time, add more water, do another rinse-all at any point during the cycle. I wish I controlled the Speed Queen instead of it controlling me. The salesperson bragged on how fast it is, but maybe a little too fast. It doesn't clean as well as my old Maytag. I bought it because of its reputation to hold up for many years, but I thought I would have more control over what it does and that it would clean better.

Pros: Quiet, has the features I want, sturdy. Cons: Tub has rough edges that can snag delicate fabrics; expensive. Given the cost of the washer, I expect that stainless steel tub to be polished so that all surfaces are smooth. However, multiple units failed the "pantyhose" test, where we take pantyhose and wipe it around the tub to reveal any rough edges. SpeedQueen's quality control should perform this test, and any tub that doesn't pass should get sent back for polishing until it passes.

Never going to buy any other washing machine brand. Love the simplicity, top load, no lock machine. Not noisy, gets contents fully washed. Not a hit and miss wetness in sheets and towels like the high end front loaders (I've had two). Best warranty on the market.

I have only had my washer and dryer for about a month. I really like it and am still learning the settings , I love that it is made in the USA and from all I have read they are the best reliable machine. I love the full tub of water with extra fill if needed. It handles bulky sheets without them coming out all twisted together like my previous washer. Best of all the wash cycle is shorter and my clothes are coming out cleaner. The transmission broke on our Whirlpool washer. It was only six years old! I should have purchased a Speed Queen years ago.

After using I will say I noticed a difference in the structure of a washing machine. It seems well built and handles a heavy load. My last machine was not very old and we had to replace the support rods because when it spin it walked the floor. This machine spins well with little motion and clothes seem much dryer. I like the machine.b

I love my new Speed Queen TC5003WN so much that I told my husband if we ever divorced, I was getting custody of the washing machine!! The washer washes, rinses, and spins in about 30 minutes. Sounds too good to be true??? I had to stand guard with my old washer of 7 years because each spin cycle was a toss-up if it was going to simply spin or dance across the floor. So I had to be "at the ready" to push the stop button, wait for washer to unlock, adjust the clothes, start the cycle again. If I was lucky, it would rinse again and then spin. But, apparently, I'm not a lucky person as this ritual would continue for the next 45 minutes to an hour as there were 3 spin cycles to endure. A waste of time and water with having to repeat the cycle again and again. The water lever of the old machine didn't begin to cover the tops of laundry, no matter what selection I made.
No hiccups whatsoever with the Speed Queen. Throw the laundry in, walk away for 30 minutes and the load of laundry is done, clothes clean, no "dancing," no time or water wasting. Like magic! An appliance that operates as advertised. What a novel idea! There is a deep fill option if more water is preferred. No lid lock so adding last minute items can be thrown in without having to stop or unlock the lid. Five-year warranty. It just doesn't get any better than this!! And it's made in the USA!!

Had my Speed Queen TC5 just about a month and a half. It is very easy to use with basic knobs and no confusing settings to select. And I already notice the big difference of this washer compared to my previous machine in how fast it cycles through the loads with cloths still coming out clean. So far, this TC5 is A+.

I am so glad I purchased this washing machine, the clothes come out so clean it's a simple machine, which is what I was looking for. I had purchased a brand new washer a base model. It lasted one year and the computer board failed, then I got Cabrio Washer, but it didn't have an agitator. It took a lot of detergent and the clothes were never clean and I just couldn't take it anymore. I did some research and I loved what I was seeing about the speed queen so I broke down and bought one and I'm so glad I did. It was worth every penny. It's built so solid and it hasn't been off-balance one time and only uses half a cup of detergent LOVE my Speedqueen!!

We bought this TC5 top load washer after having bad experiences with LG and Samsung. and we were hoping this would be the machine that would last more than a few years. Nope. Failed within three months. Randomly turns off mid-load no matter the setting. A repair person is coming under warranty, sure......however, warranty doesn't fixb the time/water/electricity invested in unfinished loads, and now I have to take a day off work to have this new, supposedly durable machine repaired. It's grossly disappointing.

I only owed for month or so. The things I like, there is a short wash cycle, Water level in tub is high enough to cover clothes with water no matter how big the load, my other washer I had to add water. I've washed bulk loads without issues and clothes come out clean. Clothes are spun dry which saves on dyer time. I had an issue with deep fill where when washer emptied it overwhelmed my drain and water went everywhere. I haven't used since. Not sure I need this option. Regular wash options are fine, Early evaluation, so far so good, hope it is worth the hype.

Purchased 3/19/25. Within a few months cycle stalled between wash and rinse.Referred to "User Guide"
for cause and remedy to no avail. Managed stalled cycles with dials.
Service call 12/17/25- service provider said this is a problem experienced by well owners. Washer filter was cleaned.(This residence is equipped with a full house filter.). Not at time of purchase nor in the User Guide
is there a warning that residents with wells may not be well serviced by this machine.
Service call 3/9/26. Repeat of the same problem. Replaced entire part housing the 2 filters.Again blame on
the well service.
To date, 7/15/26, washer is running as it should. There has been no recurrence of stalled cycles.
My concern is with possible recurrence of the problem. It would seem that an additional filter at the
cold water connection should be included for residents with wells. My grave concern is the failure to disclose
a probable problem at the time of purchase.

I am very disappointed with this new washer. Instead of spending my money on a new Speed Queen, I wish I had spent my money to install a new motor in my old machine. My main complaint is that the technology has gone backwards! My old machine had a mini, small, medium and large option - perfect!! Now I have just two choices, regular or deep fill. If I want to wash just 2 or 3 items, the water level is WAAAY to high which completely dilutes the wash. My other complaint is having to put the soap in and then close the lid - otherwise the water stops running and I can't rinse out the cup. Very annoying. This new machine has taken away my ability to decide how I want to wash my clothes.

Quiet, well built washer. Needs to have a water level control though. Sometimes I want to just wash one or two items and the default of 2/3 full is too much. IMO, it should have low, medium and high like my 36 year old Kenmore 70 series had.
