It is a pleasure to do laundry again. No water sensing nonsense, no load sensing, all steel gears and shafts, and being able to open the lid mid wash to add things is great. And no need to wash the washer. And it is done in 30 mins instead of 75 minutes.

I was debating if I wanted to take the time to speak out about my disappointments regarding my recently purchased TC5003WN washer... but since Speed Queen sent me an Email requesting my thoughts, here goes.
First, it needs to be stated that I previously owned an older version of this basically same washer, which I used a lot for approximately 15 years. It never failed in any way that I can recall... so I was pretty happy with the overall quality.
I decided I wanted a brand new Speed Queen washer, thinking that it was simply a good time for an update, and having a fresh start with a new machine I could hopefully have for another 15 years of dependable service.
I read on their website what Speed Queen stated about the latest version, the TC5003WN, which was advertised as being a duplicate of all the things and features the older versions were known for. Sounded perfect to me... THAT is what I wanted.
I purchased it, and installed the machine without any issue.
BUT once I got around to do my very first load of wash... I quickly came to the dissapointing realization there were some very important operational features that were completely eliminated with the TC5003WN, which l believe were made based tin some pretty stupid decisions.
Keep in mind that the following issues did NOT exist with the previous versions of this washing machine.
1- The BIGGEST ISSUE... is the fact that the user essentially has no real control of the amount of water that will be consumed in each cycle. It is either 13 gallons OR 19 gallons (if selected for maximum loads).
THIS is a really bad thing if you live in a community that needs to be concerned about water consumption (as is the case where we are under a long lasting drought).
Everyone occasional has the need to do just a small load of wash, something that technically would require perhaps only like 3 or 4 gallons of water per cycle. This means literally 20 gallons of extra water (at minimum) is being unnecessarily added and is being completed wasted. Not at all water conservative! BTW...The older versions of this washer had a completely variable setting for the user to dial in the appropriate amount of water.
The worst thing about this... is that I found out (from Speed Queen's own customer service rep when I inquired about this) is that this is the ONLY machine that Speed Queen offers that doesn't have an adjustable water setting. WHY??!!
2- The water valve that automatically shuts off water flow from filling tub when the lid is opened (which sometimes is needed) is again totally unnecessary and in some cases an annoying time wasting feature.
3- The updated "high tech" controlling built into this new washer, actually limits the user for specific washing situations.
BOTTOM LINE... this latest version (even though so far it is functioning as it was designed to do), IS NOT as good as the "Grandma's old Speed Queen" which it was advertised to be.

It does not work as specified. You have to add vinegar, 2tbsp detergent, and fabric softener, to keep bubbles from coming out of the drain pipe. They have refused to exchange or give me my money back

This washer performs as good as I expected it to, but I'm not happy with the lack of control I have with amount of fill water. It is particularly annoying to have the fill water stop every time I lift the lid: When I add fabric softener or vinegar for the rinse cycle I'd like to be able to use the water as it comes into the tub, so as not have to travel from the sink to the washer, and I'd like to be able to add an errant sock, for example, without the water stopping.

After using many brands over the last 55 years I finally discovered a washer that suits my needs. And the big plus, my clothes are clean. The selections for use from water temperature to type of fabric care are great. It handles large and smaller loads with no difficulty and bulky items are agitated and well cleaned; rugs, blankets, quilts.

I would have given it 5 starts, but there is one thing I don't like. If you put the washer on normal eco it washes your clothes in cold water. To me thats gross. So now I have to wash everything on heavy duty only other one to pick to wash a regular load.

We purchased this machine after our 29 y/o Amana washer died (amazing!). After doing research, we opted for this model due to its high ratings for functioning well and durability/longevity. We hope the investment will prove correct.
After using the washer weekly for two months now, I'm so far satisfied and agree with the other ratings I reviewed. The machine seems durable and easy/straightforward to use. My clothes seem to wash very well, and the heavy-duty cycle (which is what I was recommended to regularly use, unless otherwise needed) takes about 35 minutes to complete. The load seems to extract water really well from the clothes, which saves on energy and time in the dryer.
As many other reviews have noted, the washer is loud, but it is not an issue for our household, as our washer is in the basement. Still, take note that it is loud, especially when switching cycles. I do wish the water would not cut off to fill the drum when the door is open, but I was fully aware beforehand that this is how this operates.

This washer is by far the best we have ever had, period. The quality is so far beyond ANY Big box stores like Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Cannot even come close to these machines. NEVER will we buy a cheap flimsy set of big box store products. We purchased a set of these machines. Unlike our old sets of the past, these machines wash and dry better (and in half the time} than any other flimsy, noisy junk we have suffered with. To us these machines are the best you can buy. powerful & quiet, you can hear and feel the quality that SPEED QUEEN has built. Robust design, solid construction, traditional tall agitator. Replaced a 5-year old machine (the brand with the lonely repairman) that needed a new transmission, one month past extended warranty limit, would have been a $700 repair. I'm also betting we won't get the moldy smell that's unavoidable (and cleaning cycle helps for only two days) with most new machines.

Got rid of my top loading HE washer with no agitator that took an hour to do a load of laundry. Clothes didn't always get clean and I often had to rebalance the load during the spin cycles. This one does a load in 29 minutes and so far everything has come out clean and no balance issues.

I have only owned my Speed Queen for around a month. It is a very heavy,sturdy well built machine. I like the fact that it has a soak feature. My last machine would drain the water out after 10 minutes, if I tried to soak anything. I also LOVE the fact that it has no lid lock! It also has a powerful agitator! Reminds me of the well,built to last machines companies used to make. I also love the fact, it has very simple knobs/controls. It still has a computer board, but WAY better than modern machines with all of the bells & whistles. So far I'm very happy with my purchase.

I'm hoping this machine is as good as they are saying. Sad only selected stores can sell your products. In San Angelo, TX the machines are $150 more then other towns close by that sell them. I drove to other town to buy my machine. Capacity should be a bit larger.

After researching and looking at many washing machines, we decided to buy the consistently reliable Speed Queen. We also had a strong recommendation from a friend with a family of 10 with alot of laundry to wash! We have been very happy. No need for alot of extra options that would rarely be used anyway. This has good agitation and a fast wash time (about 30 minutes). We also appreciated the standard 5 year warranty.

I never thought that a washer would bring me so much happiness. The only thing that made me sad when my old washer died, was the price of having to buy a new one. However, even though I spent more on the Speed Queen washer, it will pay off in the long run. Thank my granddaughter for that realization. She said, "Do the math." We did in fact do the math, and if it lasts like it is supposed to we will only be spending about $85.00 a year to have the cleanest clothes around. Thank you for providing a quality product in a time when other products are failing right and left. My next quest is to find a way, without financing, thank you Dave Ramsey, to afford the matching black dryer. It will happen! By the way, I love the black color choice. So, I am truly feeling like a Queen with my Speed Queen!

After owning a Whirlpool washer for only 21 months and washing at most 80 loads of laundry for two retired seniors, it stopped working. I had owned Kenmore in the past and they lasted for 15 to 20 years. I did my research and The SQ TC5003WN model was just what we needed. I have owned it for a month and have washed 6 or 7 loads of laundry. It washes faster than my old washer, the water level is good without even using the "Deep Fill" option, the clothes are not all entangeled and they take less time to dry due to such a good spin. No complaints at all. I hope it lasts me until I die....and I think it will.

I've had my machine for about a month now. First brand new washing machine ive ever owned. Everyone told me if I was going to buy new to get one. I didn't want to spend that kind of money on a washer but every person I talked to said just do it. If you can just do it. Well I did it. I bought the washer and went with a cheaper dryer. So far it's amazing. It's so fast. Fills up with water. Spins quietly. I am loving it.
