Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy, and expensive and you probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Horrible

Submitted by Homemaker - 3/10/2017

I bought this washer, and 1 1/2 years, it broke down. I paid $85 for a repairman to diagnose the problem. He said it would be $249 to fix the problem--it was the actuator. It would not agitate. So i found that if I set the timer after wash and rinse, and kept pressing the start button, it would eventually agitate. Then it started chewing holes in my towels. A few months after that, the lid lock broke. I am very careful with my things, I have never had such a terrible washer. Worse washer ever. My last washer was also a Whirlpool, and I loved it. But after this Whirlpool washer, don't think I will ever buy another. This is the first review I have ever written. But I thought that buyers should be aware.

Where is "DURABILITY and SERVICE" ?

Submitted by Wayne - 4/30/2016

The washer was purchased 3 years ago. Two days ago, the "Shift Actuator" suddenly worn out, and did a scary sound as the spinning cycle finishing up at the same time. The worst thing is the local agency can't provide the new part to us, customers. The agency only left "we cannot provide you the estimated time of part's arrival." as response. I'm so happy to recycle it instead of repair it.

Lasted 18 months, then repeated expensive break downs

Submitted by AndreaCampbell - 11/28/2014

I bought this in summer 2012 and in Oct 2014 it broke down, requiring hundreds of dollars in parts and labor, even when Whirlpool finally offered to discount the parts. Now a month later it is down again. The service company showed me how the wire harness is placed where it degrades in a matter of months in this design. The cost of repairs now exceeds the cost of the machine itself. If you have an old water guzzler, tune it up and keep it. This is a "disposable" machine.

Submitted by Beachgirl1990 - 11/8/2014

When our 24 year old Roper washer finally gave out, we went to our small local appliance dealer, told him we wanted a Whirlpool washer with a agitator. This machine has every thing I need and nothing I don't! The features are perfect for our needs and I just love it! Thank you for making laundry fun!

Nothing to shout about

Submitted by dipstick - 10/27/2014

I wanted a machine that still had an agitator so went this one as it was one of the few that still had one. Takes longer to do a load of wash than my old Whirlpool washing machine and I don't think the clothes are getting as clean. I also don't like having to unlock the machine if I happen to forget an item. Noise level is bearable when not in the room but plenty loud if you have to stay in the room while machine is running. It does a great job of spinning out the water thus shortening the drying time by quite a bit. If you want a machine with an agitator, this one is alright but not perfect.

strange noises, but does the job well

Submitted by greanbean - 8/1/2014

This washer works very different than our other washer we replaced it with. The washer seems much smaller, but when you put clothes in it is just as big as my "high capacity" washer drum. It makes strange noises when it washes and makes interesting noises throughout. The computer locks the door after it fills and took some adjusting. I push the button and it lets me in the tub. I have had some problems when I want to soak my clothes with it draining. Overall, it has been a good buy. The machine does clean our clothes well. This ended up being a good bargain.

We are happy to return to a high quality machine that actually cleans clothes. Don't be fooled by the marketing hype or "looks" of a washing machine. If you want clean clothes...this model is great!

Submitted by Beezy - 4/30/2014

This is our third washing machine since 2005. Our home was flooded from hurricane "Rita". We replaced with a Maytag which lasted five years. 2010 we replaced with another Maytag which made a terrible noise at the beginning of each spin cycle. Checked with repairman only to be told that was normal. Well 2014 had to be replaced, leaking transmission oil. We then replaced with a Whirlpool, unbelievably quiet. Clothes are really cleaned, very pleased.

Submitted by amy67 - 4/30/2014

I don't like that the lid locks and I can't open without pausing the cycle (which sometimes takes a while). But it seems to wash well enough and uses just enough water to cover the load. I have had a little over 2 years. I DO NOT LIKE that is doesn't spin the clothes faster/harder. They are still too wet when done as compared to my last washer.

Submitted by panamared - 3/28/2014

This was a gift for my spouse and I for Christmas. Cleans clothes well. Uses less soap than my old Amana and can wash bigger loads too. The first time we used it we got confused by the controls (it automatically determines the load size and water level) but it didn't take long to figure it out. Overall very pleased with the purchase.

Lasted 2 1/2 years then died!

Submitted by gtimes2 - 3/11/2014

Purchased in Oct 2011 from Lowes. Thankfully we purchased the 2 year extended warranty for $50 which gave us 3 years warranty. Computer crashed and it cost more to repair than to replace so our warranty is paying us what we payed for it to replace it. Now I'm researching for a new machine and having a hard time. Most important features for me are a delicate cycle, rinse dispenser and easy to use. Don't know if I want to trust Whirlpool again, or do I go for something that will die again in less than 3 years to get another new one!? Never liked the locking lid feature and always felt that the HE version gave us clothes that weren't all that clean. Also, it is very noisy.

Very Disappointed!

Submitted by LincolnGuy - 3/1/2014

Bought this washer a little over two years ago so unless there have been improvements to this model since then, I would stay away from it. I previously had a Whirlpool washer that went over 20 years with no issues. Never needed service the entire time and just finally gave out. So decided to buy another Whirlpool and am so sorry I did. Will not purchase this brand again. This washer has been nothing but a headache since the day it was delivered. I have tried to get use to the noise, as mentioned in other reviews, the annoying locking lid, the length of time for a cycle (a good hour), the terrible job it does rinsing (end up with fabric softener streaks on completed laundry), but the straw being that it now seems to be stuck on the rinse cycle. The thing has been rinsing now for thirty minutes and nothing I do seems to get it to move past this cycle. I have had it with this machine and am not going to even waste money to have it repaired. Rather I am going to eat the money I spent on it and replace it with a different brand and be sure to read the reviews closely. What a shame on a washer I have only owned for two years.

Tears Your Clothes Apart

Submitted by BDalin - 2/12/2014

The water sensor only allows enough water to barely cover the clothes. This causes way too much friction for the wash and rinse cycle and leads to twisting your clothes up and tearing the hems out of towels. I was wondering for a while what was causing this and finally figured it out. To prevent this you must hang around while it is filling with water and when it starts to wash without more water filling, lift the lid and trick it into adding more water. The rinse cycle does not release the fabric softener fully which creates a mess with the wash stopping to find dripping blue softener running down the side of the agitator. I HATE THIS MACHINE, HATE IT!!!!!

Ok machine for the money, but

Submitted by BonnieJ - 1/20/2014

I purchased this machine for the energy efficiency and prior ownership of Whirlpool appliances. The water levels dispensed with the sensing is not sufficient to wash the clothes - I have dry areas on various pieces of clothing. This washer is so sensitive that nine out of ten loads go off balance, I shift the clothes around and it goes into the next cycle without completing the drain and spin. My final result is clothing rinsed with wash water! As far as efficiency - my water bill NEVER decreased with this washer! In fact it increased because I had to do so many loads over again. Electric bill - same effect. I am looking for another washer because I can't leave the machine to complete the cycle and I am tired of babysitting it.

I've had this washer for a little over 2 years. It has worked well for a family of 3. A bolt was not tighten properly in assembly or either came loose on it's own after nearly 2 years of use which caused an awful noise when agitating. Soon after it quit agitating but the bolt has just loose on the pully on the bottom of the drum. Properly tightening the bolt fixed the noise problem and has agitated fine ever since with no problems.Overall a good quality washer for the price. I like that even though the lid locks it has a pause button so that you can add more clothes that you may have forgotten.

I had a prior whirlpool washer for 27 years and loved the quality and performance, That is why I bought another whirlpool. I will never buy this brand of washer ever again. The sensor machines are terrible. It does not add enough water to the washer to move the clothes around in the washer nor does it wash or rinse the clothes properly. I have tried several name brand detergents but my white clothes are now coming out of the machine very dingy and dirty looking. I hate this machine and only wish I would have never bought a sensing washer. I wish I could throw away this machine and not even donate it to anyone. Very poor quality machine. It cleans well and I do like the extra features like the Rinse and Spin cycle. I washed a bulky item and it needed a little more spin time. The normal cycle does take a really long time, though. It's typically a little over an hour to complete the cycle. Makes doing laundry an all day activity. Also, the liquid softener cup doesn't get fully rinsed during a cycle. That is something that definitely needs to be fixed.

Can't believe how noisy this machine is

Submitted by pstrong4 - 10/14/2013

My Kenmore washer died after approximately 25 years of successful service. In the haste to replace my washer ASAP, I purchased a Whirlpool top load washer. It was delivered yesterday, 10/14/13 and after one day of owning it, I called the store, Plaza Appliance in Huntersville, NC and asked if something could be wrong with the machine. Surely, a brand new washer could not be making this much noise. It sounds like a piece of junk about to fall apart. I was told to call Whirlpool. After speaking with the customer service rep, I was told "it's a noisy washer" and told to go to the website to listen to the sounds the washer makes. If these were the sounds I was hearing, that's normal for this washer and there was no need for a repairman to come out. I was told to call Plaza Appliance to select another washer, I wish I had read the reviews before buying this washer. Now, I'm trying to decide which brand to get. This washer has to go!!! The store manager told me he has had several complaints in the past about the noise of this washer. I wish the salesman had told me this before I purchased it, especially since they were aware of this noise issue. Very disappointed.

I use a top rated he detergent so that isn't the problem nor do I overload the machine. I am 45 years old and know how to properly operate appliances. I can testify that less water and no agitator does not work on the average families need of clean clothes. Submitted by xfilerscully - 5/28/2013

Purchased this washer and matching dryer in Feb. 2012. It has a crack in the top of the washtub somehow. Keeps getting an error during the spin cycle. You have to unplug and replug in the washer to clear the error and then manually set the spin cycle. The tub has dropped at least 2 inches it looks like, and I do not overload! I evenly balance loads, and nothing works. Washer was very cheaply built. Probably not going to bother getting it fixed.... Probably cheaper just to buy a new one.

I love this washer and how easy it is to use. I definitely wanted something with a pricier price tag but I'm so happy with the way this washer performs and recommend it to all my friends and families.

Worst purchase - EVER!

Submitted by Tammy68 - 3/19/2013

I purchased this machine just over a year ago, after my old machine finally died after 15 years of use. This was a huge purchase for me, as I am a single mom with 2 kids...so money is very, very tight. I was drawn to this model for several reasons - seemed easy to use, energy efficient, senses load size which would reduce use of water, was supposed to be quiet, etc. However, I was disappointed right away....it is much noisier than my old machine, gets out of balance easily, and it takes over an hour to wash a regular load of clothes (my old machine only took 20 minutes!!). Then, right after the one-year warranty was up in February, the machine started making horrible grinding noises (but not during the spin cycle, I don't think)...like gears on gears...then 2 days ago it quit working all together! I moved it out from the wall, and found a shiny nut under it...so I'm assuming the cam assembly has come apart. I don't have the money to have a repairman come out (that could end up costing as much as the machine did!!), or to pay on online repairman to "guess" at what it might be. It seems like Whirlpool would fix this issue, as there are many others that I have read about that are having the same issue. Very unhappy with this machine, even before it quit working...do not waste your money.

with efficent space for big loads of clothes. The cleanability level is pretty imppressive. The only gripes I have about it is it broke down on me without warning and it gets pretty loud during spin cycle. I would recommend it.

Energy efficient and water-saving features are great!

I love that the washer senses just how much water is necessary - no waste - and that both the washer and dryer are energy efficient. Designed to handle any type of load from the heaviest to the most delicate fabrics and plenty of room for queen sized comforters. These have everything I want. My laundry nook is in the kitchen right next to the den where we watch TV and these appliances are so quiet, we hardly know that they are running. The design is clean and efficient, too. Nice job Whirlpool!
